We are a community dedicated to cooperative and diversified philosophical education, intellectual curiosity, and the practice of philosophy as a way of life. Got questions about philosophy? Hop into chat and ask away! 📜 Server Ethos Living Philosophy aims to be a casual and welcoming space for learning about and discussing philosophy, especially for those new to the field. As such, members are expected to be accommodating to amateurs/laypersons. If you express a complex/niche position or use philosophical jargon, you can reasonably be expected to explain yourself in simple, easily interpretable language, and provide substantiation via arguments or sources if necessary. Avoid telling others to "just Google it" or "do their own research", and avoid using whatever academic credentials you may have as a way to stifle discussion or reasonable questioning. Instead, embrace the spirit of the server by cultivating a friendly, supportive and egalitarian educational community. After all, one learns best by teaching! On the other hand, if you are new to philosophy, be open to learning from those more experienced, and always feel free to ask any questions, no matter how simple. Thank you!
